Table of Authorities Builder
A categorized, alphabetized list built from the citations you enter.
Enter one authority per row. The tool groups your entries by category, sorts each group alphabetically, and flags exact duplicates. It does not parse essays, uploaded files, or documents, and it does not check your citation format.
How to use this tool
- Use Add authority to create one row per citation. Manual entry only; the tool does not parse essays or uploaded files.
- For each row, pick the category and paste the citation exactly as you want it to appear.
- Review the Grouped view below: entries are sorted alphabetically within each category and exact duplicates are flagged.
- When the list is ready, Copy plain text or Print. Long citations and page references wrap on mobile and in the printed layout.
The tool does not italicize titles, fix punctuation, or check formatting rules.
