Every calculator and guide on LegalCalc Ontario is general legal information. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for speaking with a licensed Ontario lawyer or paralegal about your situation.

Source selection

We rely on primary Ontario and federal sources: the applicable statute or regulation, published rate tables (for example, the Ministry of the Attorney General's quarterly court-interest rates), official CRA publications, and Tribunals Ontario materials. Where a topic has settled higher-court authority, we may reference reported cases. We avoid third-party summaries as substitutes for the underlying source.

Review dates

Each calculator and guide displays the date the content was last reviewed. A review confirms the linked sources are still current and the calculation logic still reflects them. Review does not equate to an audit, and does not guarantee the content covers every fact pattern or every recent case.

Corrections

Corrections are welcome. Please write to us through the contact page and describe the specific line or figure you believe is wrong, with a reference to an official source. Substantive corrections are made promptly and the review date on the affected page is updated when the change is published.

Updates when the law changes

When a rate table is updated or a statutory rule changes, we update the relevant tool. We do not automatically notify past users; the published tool always reflects the current review. If you rely on a specific calculation, re-run it after any legislative change.

Named reviewers

We do not attribute content to a named human reviewer or list credentials on individual pages. Reviews are performed by the site's editorial process against the sources cited on each page.
